Shake it Off: Take a Step Up
Each of our Troubles is a Steppingstone
Once there was a farmer who's donkey fell into a well.
The donkey cried for hours on end while the farmer tried to figure out what he should do.
After a while, the farmer decided the donkey was old, and the well needed to be filled in anyway.
He figured it just wasn't worth retrieving the donkey.
The farmer asked all of his neighbors to come over and give him a hand.
Each brought a shovel and started to shovel dirt into the well.
Initially, the donkey let out a terrifying cry.
Then, to the amazemant of everybody, the donkey quieted down.
The farmer looked down the well.
What he saw astonished both him and all the other farmers.
As each shovel of dirt hit the donkey's back, something amazing happened.
The donkey would shake it off and take a step up.
The farmer and his neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the donkey.
With each shovel of dirt landing on his back, the donkey would simply shake it off and take a step up.
After a while, to the amazement of all the farmers, the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and joyfully ran off!
